Gary Katz
Gary KatzFounder and Chairman

Gary Katz helps our clients elevate marketing operations to a strategic role by embracing a systems approach for strong business results. Gary is a visionary and thought leader in the emerging Marketing Operations field.

He was:

  • 1st to create a consultancy dedicated to MO (Marketing Operations Partners)
  • 1st to publish an article on marketing operations (7 Deadly Sins of Marketing)
  • 1st to create a college course on MO (UC Santa Cruz Extension)
  • 1st teach a professional symposium on MO (Hong Kong)
  • 1st to conduct a benchmarking study of marketing operations practices (Journey to Marketing Operations Maturity)
Gary has managed initiatives in marketing, communications, public relations, investor relations, and employee communications in the technology sector: Siemens, Sun Microsystems, ShoreTel, eTrigue, and other companies. Consulting clients include Anritsu, BitDefender, Health Strategies Group, IBM CastIron, LexisNexis, NetApp, and other firms.

Gary earned his BA in Public Relations from San Jose State University and his Master’s degree in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. He is an instructor at University of California Santa Cruz Extension.

He is a past national Board Member of the Business Marketing Association, past president of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and past track chair for the Marketing Operations Management Symposium from 2005-2008.

Gary is a Certified Strategic Planning Process Facilitator by the Institute of Cultural Affairs. Gary’s articles on Marketing Operations have been published by Chief Marketer, MarketingProfs, Automate, The Journal of Digital Asset Management, and other publications. Co-Founders of Marketing Operations Partners are Gary Katz, Dick Heermance, Tom Pencek, and Murry Shohat.

Lynn Hunsaker helps our clients improve return on marketing investment by emphasizing the customer experience context of marketing operations.

Lynn has managed initiatives in strategic planning, product management, market research, alliances, acquisitions, marcom, process improvement, metrics, incentive programs, change management, and customer experience management.

Her experience spans high tech, manufacturing, and professional services sectors: Applied Materials, Sonoco Products Company, and Tragon.

She is founder of ClearAction customer experience optimization consulting. She has contributed significant innovations to the customer experience field:

  • 1st to develop a customer experience ROI maturity assessment
  • 1st to create a customer experience model showing sequential flow of CX competencies as ROI building-blocks
  • 1st to benchmark business-to-business customer experience practices globally
  • 1st to create a CCXP Exam Prep Course for the CXPA’s Certified Customer Experience Professional exam
  • 1st to coin the term “Customer Experience Enablement” as a bridge between VoC and customer engagement
  • Developed customer experience journey mapping methodology with 8 unique best-practices

Lynn earned her AAS degree in Psychology and BS degree in Business Management from BYU and her MBA degree from Vanderbilt University. She is past president of Silicon Valley American Marketing Association and the Bay Area Association for Psychological Type. Lynn has been an instructor of business courses at San Jose State University and University of California Berkeley Extension. She is an AMA Professional Certified Marketer, ASQ Certified Quality Manager, and Certified Practitioner of MBTI® and CPI260, and she is a Customer Experience Expert for the Customer Experience Professionals Association.

Lynn is author of three Kindle books: Metrics You Can Manage For Success, Customer Experience Improvement Momentum, and Innovating Superior Customer Experience. She was project director of Marketing Operations Partners’ best practices benchmarking study, Journey to Marketing Operations Maturity. Lynn enjoys bicycling, practicing the Dutch she learned during 18 months in The Netherlands and Belgium, and expanding her travel experience beyond her current record of 30 countries.

Kathryn Gorges is an expert in organization identity clarification, brand development, marketing strategy, marketing and marketing communications planning, and market research. Her rich background includes systems engineer, systems analyst, clothing designer, sales representative, and large systems marketing manager at Amdahl, Stratus, Tandem Computers, Beatrix, and IBM. She earned a BS in Math from William & Mary College, an associate degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, an MBA in philosophy from Stanford University, and an MBA degree from Santa Clara University.

Kimberley Stewart
Kimberley StewartVP of Business Operations

Kim helps our clients create people and process strategies for marketing maturity. She has managed initiatives in communication strategy and development through positions at Collective Brain Trust, BBDO, and Accenture, including Vice President of Corporate Consulting and Director of Strategy, Development and Communications. Kim earned her BA degree in Advertising at BYU, a Master’s degree in Media and Communications at NYU, and an executive certificate for Public and Nonprofit Leadership from Georgetown University.
